GeekSugar Website of the Day: It Made My Day Nov 20, 2009 2:50 PM Sometimes, you just need a little digital pick-me-up, and today I'm here to bring you exactly that. Today's installment of Website of the Day is not only endlessly entertaining but may even give you a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. It Made My Day is a site where people can submit great moments they come across during their otherwise boring days. For example, my favorite: This morning, my seven-year-old son showed his excitement for going out to breakfast by doing the Robot Now if that doesn't make you smile, your geeky heart must be made of stone. IMMD is filled with other awesome stories of the little things that make your day, whether it be witnessing karmic revenge on the person who stole your parking spot or uncovering hilarious mistakes on your righteous co-workers' reports, it's all there. Check it out, and enjoy a good win giggle. Do you have an interesting website you want to share? Create a PopSugar Account or login to your existing account . GeekSugar Website of the Day: MSN Twilight Nov 19, 2009 3:50 AM Only one more day until the highly anticipated New Moon premiere and I know you were just hoping I'd squeeze in one more Twilight tech treat before the big day. And here it is! MSN has launched its very own Twilight website that takes you right to Forks, Washington where all the Twilight excitement takes place . You'll be able to take virtual tours of the Cullen house, the Forks Police Station, the Forks Hospital, Bella Italia, the dress shop, the bookstore, and the high school. Just don't try opening this site using Firefox on Mac or else you'll get this message (which I thought was pretty cheeky): "Let's say Firefox on Mac is like a vampire and our video player is like a wolf pack. . . They just don't get along. We don't want you to miss out on the Twilight action though, so try opening our site in Safari for Mac." Do you have an interesting website you want to share? GeekSugar Website of the Day: More Cloth Nov 18, 2009 2:15 PM I'm a total DIY freak , and appreciate websites that help me reach my crafting goals. Take my last DIY project: the charging station I made from an Ikea shelving unit. Now if I wanted to take that a step further, I could add some decorative fabric to the back panels and really make the shelf pop. But how do I find the right fabric? I could browse racks of fabric at my local craft store, or I could do it the easy way (without leaving the warmth of my computer) and hit up More Cloth . This site works seamlessly with Etsy to lead you to your perfect fabric. First it offers up a ton of color schemes to choose from (like in the photo to the right), and then directs you to the exact fabric patterns that contain those colors. Finally, More Cloth shoots you over to the Etsy page where you can add your chosen fabric to your cart, and prep your craft room accordingly — just sit back and wait for your fabric to arrive! Have an interesting website you want to share? To learn how to post your favorite websites to our Website of the Day group, . First of all, join the Website of the Day group . Click "New Post" under the website of the day tab at the top of the page. Give your story a "Title." Fill in the "Body" with a link to your favorite website and the reasons why you love it. Type "Technology and Gadgets" in the Categories box Add keyword(s) in the tag field with relevant tags (for example mine for this story was "Website of the Day"). Choose whether you want the post to be private or public. Click "Create Post" to submit content.
kellabella1 CellAcademy.com - Wireless Online Learning Nov 18, 2009 10:14 AM CellAcademy is based on a community who teaches other how to use their cell phone from being basic mobile phones to smartphones. I've found this site to be very helpful with different tips and tricks and it even has a forum where you can ask questions about any phone. The reason this site is different from all the rest of the cell phone sites is that is focuses on wireless knowledge and guidance for everyone and not just a rumor/ news sites for cell phones. Cell Academy offers different sections on their site for different means of teaching, which are The Report Card (Blog) , Cellular 101 (Tips and Tricks) , and The Lounge (Forum). The Report Card focuses on a blog for learning the in and outs of different phones and tips of tricks for phones. Cellular 101 focuses on tips and tricks and also highlights post made in the forum from the community. The Lounge focuses on being a community that teaches others. Check out it, I was highly impressed. www.cellacademy.com
